Left in a mad rush this morning At 6:15 a.m. The lock is about 5 minutes from the marina and three other faster boats tried to leave without us this morning So they wouldn’t have to wait for our slower boats for the next lock. This type of behavior is quite unusual for “loopers”. We have found the majority of people friendly, helpful and supportive of everyone in our newly found “looper” community.

Overall today was a peaceful ride with two more locks successfully behind us the Stennis & Tom Belleville. Although the locks were not very big, we look quite small in them! It was an interesting ride today with a random phone booth and some feathered friends in the lock. We anchored tonight at Cook’s Lower Bend with our friends Kathie and Dave from “Ramble On”. As we were at the anchorage early Kathie and I took a dinghy ride around hoping to catch one of the many fish we saw jumping in the river. No luck today, but Florida fishing is within reach! Quiet dinner of thanksgiving leftovers and early to bed as tomorrow will be an early start as we have the Howell Heflin Lock about 30 minutes away.

Our trip today.
