We had a good weather day and decided to move from Fairhope onto the gulf and Orange Beach, AL. It was another uneventful day on the water as we entered the intracoastal waterways which runs from Alabama to Carabelle, FL. It was surprising to still see large barges along this narrow waterway. Once in Carabelle we will make the decision to either “bounce“ along the west coast of Florida, or complete an extended overnight crossing down to the entrance of the Okeechobee Waterway. We are looking forward to hanging out in Ft. Pierce for a few months as we are in need of a rest from this adventure. It will be nice not to look for new anchorages, marinas, edit routes, watch the weather, winds and tides for a while.

On our way to Orange Beach we stopped at “Lulu’s” for lunch with our friends Kathie & Dave as we have heard much about this resort that Jimmy Buffet’s sister runs here in Alabama. We stayed at the Wharf Marina which was a small waterfront resort complete with shops, hotels and a variety of restaurants.

Our trip today.
