After a few hugs and promises to meet up again in the spring we left our friends Scott & Starlet who are heading south to the Florida Keys. We are on our way on the Caloosahatchee River and planning on crossing Lake Okechobee. We are tiring of the day to day trip planning and looking forward to tying up the boat in Fort Pierce and having our typical winter vacation in Florida.

Today was an interesting trip with many changes in scenery. Along the way we passed Fort Myers. This area continues to work on cleaning up and rebuilding from the hurricane that devastated this area last year. There are few marinas in this area and were lucky to find a spot at Sweetwater landing marina. We spent the night as again high winds were predicted for the area. Tomorrow we hope to cross Lake Okechobee. A curious sight today were the power lines in the ocean! Nothing we have seen boating in New England and a testament to the shallow waters of the west coast of Florida.

Our trip today.
