Today was a rainy start to the day which included a few locks, our first locks in over a month! No I definitely do not miss the locks! Thankfully these locks are much smaller, only dropping a few feet. As an added bonus there are now bridges that need to be opened as we make our way to the lake. The trip today reminded us of the rivers, with the addition of palm trees. It was a long, yet peaceful ride until we entered the lock at Roland Martin in Clewiston. Here we needed to take a 90 degree right hand turn into the lock. The wind picked up and made for an interesting entrance to this tiny lock.
Roland Martin is in the middle of nowhere in Clewiston, FL. It has been referred to as the Bobby’s Fish Camp of Florida. I would say it is a few steps up from Bobby’s, although still wondering how this place can identify as a marina. Basically there is one long dock that you can tie up to, and although it was attached to the shore it didn’t appear to be very stable and safe. Oh well, better than anchoring out in the weather we have been experiencing!

Our trip today.
