This was one of my favorite stops along the coast of Georgia. Jekyll Island is one of the many barrier islands off the coast of mainland Georgia. Today was a short trip of ~4 hours. (Truly my sweet spot!). We met up with some new friends, Marylin and Roger from “Uncle Wiggley”, fellow loopers who started their trip in KY a few months ago.
Jekyll Harbor Marina had a courtesy golf cart which we borrowed and took a short tour of the island. Driftwood Beach was as beautiful as expected, although the ocean here is as brown as parts of the Mississippi! It seems the ocean floor here is muddy rather than sandy due to several rivers converging here. We also visited Dunes Beach and took a walk to town to have dinner with Marilyn & Roger. Had a fun time and would recommend to spend a few days here if visiting.

Our trip on day 296.
