It was a cold morning (42*) as we threw off the lines and headed out to the Cal-Sag Channel today. We are heading to Marine Services so that our trip to Joliet will be a shorter day and we can experience our first locks on this river with a smaller group of boats.
Although not a very clear day, we did catch a glimpse of the Chicago skyline as we entered the Cal-Sag on our way to the Illinois River. As predicted this part of the river is very industrial and we passed several scrap yards, sand and gravel companies, and the like throughout our trip down the river today. As we progressed through the river our friends from Journey took a picture of Boat Time underway.
Our trip today.
