We made it to Clarksville today fairly early docking around 2:30p.m. We took some time to stroll the waterfront, shop for some B’s cheesecake and had an early dinner on the boat. Tomorrow will be an early start to Nashville as there is one lock and it is getting dark by 5p.m. We avoid traveling in the dark if at all possible. We hear that Clarksville is a welcoming city and will plan to visit and walk the downtown on our return trip. All the way here I had the Monkey’s song playing in my head. The writer of the song denies any connection to this city, although the locals don’t seem to agree.
