Thankfully we had a short trip today to Pebble Island Marina in Johnsonville, TN. We keep on bouncing from state to state and it is getting hard to keep up! This was a beautiful marina that is situated within a state park. Wish the weather was warmer, as we might have stayed here for a few days. One perk of being a looper here is that the owner makes everyone cinnamon buns for breakfast! As we were leaving early in the morning she delivered them late in the afternoon so we could heat them in the morning and be on our way early.

It was another calm day on the Tennessee River with only the occasional small barge. I think we only passed two today, and had the added bonus of no locks! We will be off early in the morning heading to Clifton City as we are meeting up with some looper friends there in hopes of spending Thanksgiving with them as we meander down the Tombigbee River. In my search of the area I found this song about the Tombigbee. It gives you some insight as to the history of the area.
