We had a great deal of company on the water today on our way to Savannah. Yet another beautiful travel day with little wind and sunny skies. We arrived at Thunderbolt Marina, just outside of Savannah a bit before 1p.m. There were several boaters here that we haven’t seen in a while - ”Faith”, “Dream Catcher” and “Mona Lisa”. Needless to say we had a fun time in Savannah.

As is typical when we visit cities we have not been before we took the “Hop on Hop off Trolley” to see the town. Savannah is different than most big cities and still has that small town charm. There are few tall buildings, the tallest being some of the many churches. There are several parks in the historic area of town surrounded by some impressive older homes. We took some time to visit the Prohibition Museum and stroll the waterfront. It was interesting to learn that prohibition brought about an increase in the national income tax. Prior to prohibition much of the governments money was obtained by taxing liquor. Now that we can drink again, is it time to get rid of income taxes!!??

Our trip on day 298.
