We stayed 2 days here at the city docks in Morehead City with our friends from ”Journey” Keith and Ali. Glad we are past the impending bridge closing, although we wish we were able to explore Myrtle Beach and Southport a bit more. One thing that is a guarantee about this trip is that no matter how much you plan things will change. We cannot control the weather or the decisions of those who control the ICW (Intracoastal Waterway).

Morehead was another quaint coastal town. We had good protection here from a nearby island, although it was still a bit rocky going. We explored the town, had dinner and simply rested from the last week of hectic travel. From here to Norfolk we expect short days of 4-5 hours of travel, out sweet spot. We have been blessed with good weather for several days now and hopeful this will continue.

The landscape has changed and we seldom see a palm tree. It is starting to look more like New England with more oaks and maples. The good news is it seems we have now lost all sight of any alligators, although I am still not taking the plunge until we are further north.

Some unfortunate news we are sharing this week. As many of you know our son Adam and his girlfriend Gal are currently living in Israel. Recently they left for a family vacation to Thailand to celebrate graduations and having the family all together again. While out on a motorcycle ride Gal fell off and was injured. She is fine now although she required surgery for a broken nose in addition to a variety of cuts and scrapes. The family will remain in Thailand for a month or so as she recuperates. Please keep Gal, Adam and her entire family in your thoughts and prayers as they support Gal in her recovery.
