Happy Easter to those who celebrate today 🐣! Although we had planned to stay a few days to recuperate from our late night and to explore the area more or awoken in the middle of the night with things flying off the counters. This is probably the worst night that we’ve spent on the boat during this year long trip. Although the marina had a break water, it seemed that when they updated a few years ago, they left several holes in the slats on purpose. Well, needless to say, I got off the boat at 3 AM sat on a bench and told Danny I was either finding a hotel or sleeping on a bench for a night maybe a homeless shelter. Even though the weather looked less than stellar, we decided to give it a whirl, and left for Elizabeth city at the crack of dawn. This was the best decision we could’ve made. Although the weather was predicting high winds and rain, we saw none of that as we traveled to Elizabeth city and Lambs Marina. We plan on spending a few nights here to restock and head up the Dismal Swamp.
